Sadly we have come to the abrupt end of the Election '09 series.I wish to thank all South Africans who voted for the ANC. The ANC has understood your aspirations since 1912, to this day it remains the only true representative of the people.I also wish to that all those who did not vote for the ANC. Your participation in this hard-fought democratic right is much appreciated. Hopefully in future you will have a deeper understanding of what you vote for and thus make a better decision.I am disappointed . . . Continue reading this article
As millions of readers of this blog already know, I am a Catholic. One of the things I like the most about the Catholics is that, unlike the Christian church franchises, the Priest doesn't have the liberty to choose which verses to read in the bible. All Catholic parishes read the same verses on the same day all over the world. Such a decided in a 3 year cycle by the Church structures at the Vatican. However, these verses are read in different languages at different times of the day. Perhaps if the . . . Continue reading this article
This is a simple guide to voting ANC in the 2009 National and Provincial Elections. This is targeted at the general voting population who will be voting on 22 April 2009. This means the guide excludes voters who are outside the country because they voted the other day, it also excludes the special votes of people who vote on the 20th and 21st April 2009. Note that this guide will be updated as necessary until 23 April 2009. It is also subject to the Terms of Use. I want to vote ANC, but I am not . . . Continue reading this article
"On an question such as this, we should, perhaps, start from the beginning.So, let me begin.I am a Catholic.I owe my being to the design and intellect, the mercy and the grace, the love, the forgiveness, the care, the teachings, the Word and the Son of our Father who art in Heaven." [courtesy Small Man at Engen House]I really am a Christian. I know the Bible says I shouldn't tell you when I'm fasting but just so you know; I have not been eating meat every Friday since Ash Wednesday on 25 February . . . Continue reading this article
There has been more than 4 burglaries at home in the past 4 years. Two of these burglaries happened despite the installation of ADT Alarm system. About more than a year ago, our neighbour had his car taken in the morning while he was leaving for work. About 2 years ago, another neighbour had had his new furniture stolen within weeks after moving in to his new house. I do not know the crime rate in the neighbourhood of Hillview, Empangeni. I am lazy to check with the police station. I don't think . . . Continue reading this article
Health care is a subject matter very close to my heart. This is particularly the case because I have relatives, some of them very close, who passed away due to curable diseases. It's just that they could not afford proper medical care. All those who do not turn a blind eye to what they see, they will agree with me that a lot has changed in terms of the improvement of the public health care system since the ANC became the ruling party. There were places which had no health facilities. People had to . . . Continue reading this article
A couple of posts ago, I indicated that I had promised millions of readers of this blog that I am going to write more about the ANC 2009 Elections manifesto than just its launch earlier this year. My work (google my name if you don't know what I do) has forced me to keep procrastinating. However, due to popular demand I have had to succumb to the pressure. I decided to begin with the pre-series so as to clarify my approach to the 2009 National and Provincial elections. In the series I am going to . . . Continue reading this article
I have applied ‘consultation’ and ‘participation’ to mean the same thing, for necessarily driving the point that in the context of general interaction with communities, through going consultation must mean participation.
For some time now I’ve been troubled by the [mis]use of the word participation. The thing is, I suspect, I tend to take things too literal at times. As a matter of attitude, I plunge myself head first into what I belief to be true and sincere. And I tend to harbor so . . . Continue reading this article
As you will realise by the end of this posting, it has been a rather fiendish task to put a title to this piece. Merely because, as the SG of the ANC once said, the political atmosphere is polluted. It is so polluted that I know I risk being misunderstood. But this won’t be my first. It is no lesser a risk given the context of this very piece. But it is one that needs to be taken nonetheless. And I have intentionally used “he” and “he” interchangeably. So here goes;

I have been invited to be a contributing author on Spoken. I am told Spoken is the community of bloggers. It is aimed at adding to the currently existing community of bloggers such as Thought Leader blogs, The Times blog and City Press blogs. The difference with Spoken is that it is open to a wider range of contributors. It is also not associated with any of the currently existing newspapers like the other blogging communities. The articles posted on Spoken can thus be utilised by the authors or . . . Continue reading this article
